Chietainess mwanjabanthu hails gov’t

Chieftainess Mwanjabanthu of the Nsenga speaking people in PETAUKE district of Eastern province has commended government for the massive developmental social amenities taking place in her chiefdom
The traditional leader says the consideration by the Patriotic Front government of constructing and upgrading schools in the area has make strides in the number of children attending education.
She says the issues of early marriages are slowly ending as the girls opt to go to school than forced into premature marriages and baby motherhood.
The Chieftainess said this in an interview with ZANIS when Eastern Province permanent Secretary Buleti Nsemukila paid a courtesy call on her Royal Palace in Petauke district.
Her Royal Highness says many social amenities like health facilities have been brought closer to people’s doorsteps making it easy for her subjects to access them, adding that a 200 bed capacity Kaumbwe health centre making it easy for people especially expecting mothers to access medical services close to their homes.
He traditional leader says the roads which were in poor condtions and impassible are currently being worked on, hence making it easy accessibility to markets for framers.
And Dr Nsemukila expressed happiness that the Chiefs in Petauke appreciated government programs that aim at improving the living standards of people in rural communities.
He has urged their Royal Highnesses to take advantage of the presence of the Zambia Integrated Forest Landscaping Project (ZIFLP) a World Bank fundedto come up with community based projects that will further boost development in the chiefdoms.
